She counts 22 years as a medical practitioner in various medical fields and have experience in management of acute, chronic and multiple medical problems in General practice relating to all ages.
During her medical carrier she has worked in many teaching Hospitals in Australia and Sri Lanka and have had the opportunity to teach medical students in numerous occasions. Her postings in NSW Hospitals include Sydney children’s Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Ryde Hospital where she was engaged in various specialties of Medicine including, Surgery, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine etc. She has also worked as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at the Wellington District Hospital, NSW.
She has worked in regional areas of NSW and Sydney suburbs as a General Practitioner and currently practicing in Kings Langley. As a general practitioner her interests are in all aspects of general practice and family medicine. Her special interests include women’s a, pediatrics, geriatriatrics and chronic complex disease management.
She likes to take a holistic approach to patient caring and focus on lifestyle modification when managing preventable diseases.
In addition to the MBBS Dr. Mahishi has completed an MSc in Community Medicine and Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr. Mahishi enjoys working within high professional standards and extremely personable and enjoys forming good, sincere relationships with patients for longer term care. She is community-spirited, and fluent in both English and Sinhala and welcomes you to come in and see her. She is a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs and have engaged in various humanitarian services to the community.
